The Chilean national team hopes to reach the 2018 World Cup with a 2-1 win over Ecuador at the end of Friday in the 17th round of South American qualifying.
The Chileans jumped to third place in the qualifying table with a score of 26 points, with a difference of goals scored only against Colombia, and Ecuador stand at 20 points, to get the team officially from the race to qualify for the World Cup.
The Chileans finished the first half with Eduardo Vargas scoring a 1-0 lead in the 21st minute.
In the second half, Renato Ibarra equalized for the visitors in the 85th minute, but Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez gave Chile the lead in the next minute with a second goal.
