Liverpool refuse to sell the club for £ 1bn

Liverpool's board has refused to give up the club for businesswoman Amanda Steffley for £ 1bn.

The British newspaper Mirror reported that Stefley attended the Reds match against Newcastle United in the seventh round of the English Premier League, and is trying hard to buy the club from the American owners for a billion pounds, but John Henry, president of the Redway Sports Group, owner of the Reds, rejected the offer.

Amanda has strong ties with Middle East investors and has already tried to sell the Merseyside business to Dubai businessmen in 2007, but its efforts have failed.

Investors from China last year also tried to persuade Henry to sell Liverpool without being able to complete the deal at all.

The paper said the Fenway group had no objection to selling the team, which they bought nine years ago for 300 million pounds, but were waiting for the right price.

Amanda played a key role in selling Manchester City to Sheikh Mansour in 2008.

Liverpool have not made it to the Premier League since 1993, when their traditional rivals, Manchester United, have become the champions of England.

Liverpool tried to return to the right track by signing the German football club Juergen Club in 2015, which led them to the final of the League Cup and the final of the European league but lost to Manchester City and Sevilla respectively.
