Valverde is demanding the departure of some Barcelona players

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has asked the team to reduce the number of team members in January.

The Spanish newspaper Sport reported that Valverde was involved in all sports decisions taken by the administration. When he took charge of the team, he wanted to make only the required deals by finding an alternative to Brazilian Neymar da Silva and bringing the players into the missing positions.

The coach noted that the Basque coach believes that there are many elements in the team's training, which will not participate because he is not convinced of their capabilities, such as Belgium's Thomas Vermaelen and Turkey's Arda Turan.

Valverde wants to reduce the number of players in the training by giving up some of them, and selling them in January so he can monitor the team's talent to step up the most promising talent.

Barca have signed in the summer transfer market with Nelson Semidu of Benfica, Brazilian Paulinho of Guangzhou Evergrand of China and Frenchman Osman Dembli of Borussia Dortmund, and Gerard Deolofio of Everton after the activation of the repurchase clause.

Barcelona are top of the standings with 18 points after a win in all competitions this season and need to win on Saturday at Las Palmas to get away from their nearest rivals, Sevilla, by 5 points.
