Complex calculations before the European qualifying round

Four teams have qualified for the 2018 World Cup, ahead of a tour of the European qualifiers - Belgium, Germany, England and Spain - while Italy is the first team to qualify.

The final round of qualifiers tomorrow and tomorrow will determine the identity of 5 other cards, with 4 cards to be cleared through the supplement, next month.

The first of each of the nine groups qualifies directly to the finals, while the top eight of the second-placed teams in these groups will turn into the final round-trip final.

In this report, we review the eligibility accounts for each group, as well as the supplement:

The first group

France lead the group by 20 points, a point ahead of Sweden, and host the last round Belarus, and qualifying has become a matter of time.

Sweden will play host to the Netherlands, who have lost hope in qualifying for the fixture, although their score is 16 points, due to the big difference between Sweden and Sweden (7+ vs. 19+).

the second group

Switzerland are in the lead with 27 points, three points ahead of Portugal, who host Switzerland in a win-win match to secure their qualification, with a big goal difference (26+ vs. 18+).

Group III

Germany officially qualified, while Northern Ireland secured second place with 19 points.

Group IV

Serbia leads the group with 18 points, one point behind Wales and two points from Ireland.

Serbia are hoping to win home to Georgia, to qualify directly, while Wales hopes to lose Serbia, in return for the victory over Ireland, which also has the opportunity to lead the group provided the victory over Wales, and the loss of Serbia.

A draw for Wales will ensure second place, or qualify directly, if Serbia lose by two or more goals.

Group V

Poland need to draw their last match with Montenegro in order to secure the lead and qualify directly, with 22 points, against 19 for Denmark hoping to win Romania, in return for Poland losing to the lead on goal difference.

Montenegro (16 points) has a chance to take second place with a win over Poland and a loss of Denmark. Denmark are currently lagging behind in goal difference (10+ to 12+).

Group VI

England are in second place, with Scotland (17), Slovakia (15) and Slovenia (14), but the latter have little hope of qualifying because of their low score.

Slovenia will play host to Scotland in the last round, while Slovakia will host Malta, but their result will not be counted in the final race because their rival is in the last group.

Group VII

This group was settled directly by Spain, while Italy booked its place in the annex.

Group VIII

Belgium qualified for the finals, leaving second place between Greece (16 points) and Bosnia (14).

Greece host Gibraltar, which is the last place, which means that the points are not counted in the ranking of second place, while Bosnia plays against Estonia.

Group IX

Iceland are close to reaching the finals for the first time in their history, with 19 points and one last game against their modest hosts Kosovo.

Croatia, in the final round with Ukraine, need a draw to secure second place on goal difference, with both teams having 17 points.

Appendix calculations

At the end of the qualifiers, the points collected by the second-place holders are collected in each group, without counting two matches with the latter. That means that Portugal, second in Group B, has now secured 18 points before the match with Switzerland.

The first qualifying group to Italy (Group G) has 14 points ahead of their match against Albania, against 13 for Sweden, Denmark, Northern Ireland and Greece (points ahead of Group G in Gibraltar) Wales, Croatia and Scotland on 11 points.
